What is animation

Animation is the process of creating the illusion of motion and change by displaying a rapid sequence of static images or frames. It involves bringing static drawings, models, or computer-generated graphics to life through various techniques. These techniques can include traditional hand-drawn animation, stop motion, computer-generated imagery (CGI), or a combination of different methods.

The primary goal of animation is to tell a story or convey information through the movement and behavior of characters, objects, or environments. Animators use keyframes, which are essential frames that define the starting and ending points of action, and then fill in the in-between frames to create smooth motion. This process, known as “in-between” or “interpolation,” gives the illusion of continuous movement.

Animation is widely used in various fields, including entertainment, film, television, video games, advertising, education, and more. It allows creators to explore imaginative worlds, bring characters to life, and communicate complex ideas in a visually engaging and entertaining manner.

With advancements in technology, animation has evolved significantly. Traditional methods have been enhanced and complemented by digital tools and software, resulting in more sophisticated and realistic animations. The creation of three-dimensional computer graphics has opened up new possibilities for creating immersive and visually stunning animated experiences.
